MÜNCHENER BIENNALE
FESTIVAL FÜR NEUES MUSIKTHEATER

08/05—
20/05/2026

For schools and groups

The 20th edition of the Münchener Biennale warmly invites school classes and groups to attend performances, workshops and interactive activities.
Together, we will lure grumpy creatures out of the forest, explore the sounds of a table football tournament and chase manga characters through the underground!

If you have any questions, please contact our music theatre educator Laura Nerbl at vermittlung@muenchenerbiennale.de. The festival office can be reached on +49 89 2805607.

School performances in the morning

The productions for young audiences are complemented by a preparatory workshop, in which our musical theatre educator visits the groups at their institution and introduces them to the music and theme of the production in a playful way.

‘Der Miesepups’, ages 6 and up, for grades 1–3 and special schools

A musical theatre production based on the children's book by Kirsten Fuchs about the grumpy forest dweller ‘Miesepups’ and how wonderful it can be to finally find a friend.

Visits to performances with groups

from Year 7 onwards with accompanying workshop

Evening performances can also be booked with an accompanying workshop. We particularly recommend the following for young people:

FOOSBALL’ from Year 7 onwards

An interactive sound theatre that focuses on the acoustic dimension of a table football tournament and creates stadium euphoria.

Inventing work

Participatory accompanying programme for ‘V01CES//B0D1EZ’
for vocational school groups from Year 10 onwards

As part of the project, a group will accompany the production ‘V01CES//B0D1EZ’ through the rehearsal process until its premiere. In artistic and discursive workshops, during rehearsal visits and in direct exchange with the artistic team, participants will explore the questions that also drive the production: What work are we doing? Are we constantly repeating ourselves? And why are we actually doing this?

The project will conclude with a joint visit to the premiere on 09/05/2026. The date of the first workshop will be agreed individually with the group. Rehearsal visit expected in April 2026. The detailed announcement (in German) can be found here.
