Next Generation

How does the younger generation view current trends in contemporary music theatre? What viewing habits do they share? In which forms of artistic expression do they see potential?

As ‘Young Critics’, eight young critics from the Cultural Journalism program at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich will attend the productions by the young international artists of the Münchener Biennale in May 2026.
The results of their evaluation and experiences will be published here during the festival.

The master's program, offered since fall 2023 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich in cooperation with the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding, trains cultural journalists in all disciplines and media types. Further information here.
