Navid Navab – Organism: „In Turbulence Set 1“ & Leila Bordreuil

“Organism” defines nothing less than a newly created instrument: a centuries-old pipe organ that has been reconstructed using robotics in order to destabilise its socio-historical tonality. In their solo performance, Navid Navab unleashes unstable timbres that have remained unheard until now and steers them into a sonic self-organisation, traversing microsonic polyrhythms, post-rock overspill and swampy soundscapes. The project was awarded the Golden Nica at the Prix Ars Electronica 2025.
Leila Bordreuil’s subsequent set offers a direct contrast: the cellist moves fluidly between noise, contemporary composition and drone, creating a panoramic space between tense silence and an almost melancholic aura.
