Francesco Filidei (born in 1973 in Pisa), who received instruction from, among others, Savatore Sciarrino, Marco Stroppa, and Michel Levinas, researches as a composer of poetry the sounds of a music that has shed dominating sonorousness. Filidei also performs internationally as an organ virtuoso, and in 2009 he received one of the three grants from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
